Abstract

The requirements of ultra-low volume (ULV) spray trials against bands of locust nymphs are outlined. Trials of a ULV formulation of bendiocarb applied with a vehicle-mounted spinning-disc sprayer are described. Very rapid and effective control was consistently achieved at dosages of about 100 g a.i./ha. The sprayer proved to be robust, and both safe and easy to operate, and produced a desirably narrow range of small droplets.
