Abstract
The increasing power density in modern engines and the complexity of parts in automotive production demand complete control of burr formation, especially with regard to intersecting holes. The Institute of Manufacturing Technology and Production Systems (FBK) in Kaiserslautern has developed an approach to control burr formation in terms of the reproducible generation of burrs depending on intersecting geometry and process parameters.
