Abstract

In this work, Material of Institute Lavoisier-53(Fe) (MIL-53(Fe)) with four morphologies were prepared, using Fe3O4 as precursor and adjusting the amount of hydrochloric acid during the production process. The morphology characteristics and composition of MIL-53(Fe) were investigated by scanning electron microscope, energy disperse spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, infrared spectrometer and N2 absorption-desorption, demonstrating MIL-53(Fe) with different morphologies were successfully synthesized. Besides, the Fe2O3 was appearing with the increasing volume of hydrochloric acid. The results of electrochemical experiments showed that the fusiform structured MIL-53(Fe)/Fe2O3 had better electrochemical properties towards hydrazine oxidation at 0.85 V with a detection limit of 0.03 μM and rapid response time within 3 s. In addition, the two linear ranges were 0.25–380 μM and 380–8400 μM with sensitivities of 212.2 and 61.92 μA mM−1 cm−2 separately.
