Abstract

In this work, we develop a facile template method for the controlled synthesis of Mn2O3 triple-shelled hollow spheres and porous spheres by simply adjusting the concentration of manganese nitrate aqueous solution during the process of the infusion of Mn(II) ions into carbonaceous spheres. In virtue of the triple-shelled hollow structure, Mn2O3 triple-shelled hollow spheres exhibit improved lithium storage properties compared with Mn2O3 porous spheres.
