Abstract

Glass sample with a composition of Li1.3Nb0.3Fe1.7(PO4)3, prepared by a conventional melt-quenching method, was heat treated to obtain glass ceramics of NASICON type. Glass transition (Tg) and crystallization (Tc) temperatures of as-quenched glass sample were determined by differential thermal analysis (DTA). X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns also confirmed the formation of glass sample. After heat treatment above Tc, precipitation of crystalline particles with NASICON-type structure was confirmed by XRD. Valency and local structure of Fe atoms were investigated by Mossbauer spectroscopy at room temperature. DC-conductivity and impedance measurements of the glass ceramics proved the increased electrical conduction caused by heat treatment.
