Abstract

Objectives: Sperm morphology according to Tygerberg criteria seems to be one of the best predictive factors for fertilization after c-IVF. Although some reports describe HIC as a corrective measure to obtain fertilization by IVF in cases with ≤4% normal morphology, others prefer ICSI in order to optimize the chances of fertilization. In the following controlled study, (1) the results of c-IVF with HIC and ICSI were compared for patients with ≤4% normal morphology, and (2) the predictive value of the acrosome index (AI) was studied.
