Abstract
Summary The synthesis of metal oxide and metal oxyhydroxide nanomaterials is a very active area of research that has an enormous impact on the development and progress of new technologies. This review summarizes the most relevant and recent work on the electrochemical synthesis of metal oxides and oxyhydroxide nanostructures. It also provides the personal, critical view of the authors regarding the advantages and challenges of the methods upon potential commercialization.
