Abstract

We study the controllable propagation of chirped self-similar waves to a generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation in tapered grating dual-core waveguide amplifiers. We find that the W- and bell-shaped solitons and elliptic function solutions can exist under some constraint conditions. The propagation of these self-similar wave solutions can be controlled by appropriately choosing the system parameters. The compression and broadening behaviors of the self-similar waves are discussed in details.
