Abstract

ABSTRACT: The bean ( Phaseolus vulgaris L. ) is one of the most important constituents of the diet of the population , has an excellent protein source , but their income is low due to diseases such as common bacterial blight caused by Xanthomonas axonopodis pv . phaseoli . The aim of this study is to test the influence of foliar fertilizers in disease severity . For this purpose, bean plants were grown in a greenhouse and in the vegetative stage V2 applied the treatments with foliar fertilizers CaB (calcium and boron) , Mn ( manganese) and Z (zinc ), and control of water, bactericidal Agrimicina (50 mg i.a.L -1 ) and acibenzolar -S-methyl (75 mg i.a L -1 ), and three days after the pathogen was inoculated . The bacterial suspension was inoculated at a concentration of 5 x 10 7 UFC mL -1 . At 17 , 21 and 25 days after inoculation, the severity with diagrammatic scale and the data were submitted to ANOVA and Tukey test ( p = 0.05) by SISVAR program . The results show reducing the severity up to 47 % when compared with control when applied manganese, making it promising for research related to alternative control this pathosystem .
