Abstract

The Tritium Purification System (TPS) extracts tritium from the mixed waste (gas) produced by TFTR. The TPS was designed, built, and tested in Canada by Canadian Fusion Fuels Technology Project (CFFTP) in Toronto, Canada and was subsequently installed at TFTR. The successful integration of the Tritium Purification System (TPS) at TFTR within the context of TFTR tritium operations required extensions to the original TPS computer control system. A description of the TPS control system architecture and the functions served by its components will be presented. An assessment of our experiences in operating and maintaining the control system's hardware and software during tritium operations will also be summarized.
