Abstract

Continuous phase filters have been investigated to use to control three dimensional light intensity distribution around the focus. With the use of super-resolution theory the light intensity distribution of the continuous phase pupil is simulated and the results in both transverse and axial direction are presented. The impact of the structure parameters of continuous pupil a and b on the resolution performances is also discussed. Furthermore, the comparison of annular phase-only filter and the continuous phase-only filter is given.
