Abstract

The minimum quadrature variance and the squeezing spectrum of an optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with an added fourth-order nonlinearity and inhomogeneous losses were obtained. While the fourth-order nonlinearity has a deleterious effect on the quadrature squeezing, an interesting spectral redistribution of the noise appears due to this added term.
