Abstract

Abstract Two field trials were conducted to determine an appropriate insecticide and to establish a spraying programme for the control of Batrachedra amydraula (Meyr.). Two sprays of either tetrachlorvinphos, carbaryl or malathion are recommended as a result of these trials; these were effective in both trials, giving lower percentages of infestation and higher yields. The first spray must be given in the early stages of fruit formation and the second two weeks later.
