Abstract

Permethrin [(3-phenoxyphenyl)methyl cis,trans -(±)-3-(2,2-dichloroethenyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate] was applied at the rate of 2.5 g/m2 to narrow fiber glass strips for control of the house fly, Musca domestica . These treated strips were suspended from the ceiling ca 2 m off the floor in swine barns and an enclosed calf barn. The permethrintreated strips reduced the house fly population ca 75% in the enclosed areas at the swine farm and calf barn.
