Abstract
In this paper the method for the control of systems described by means of nonmetrical (ordinal or nominal) variables was submitted. How to find relevant sampling frequency, system states, and controller rules was shown. The method is illustrated by a simple example. But there are many unsolved problems. The main problem is that the majority of ordinal or nominal variables are fuzzy in their nature (e.g. “large pain”). The extensions of this approach for fuzzy variables seems to be possible but it needs a more work, (e.g. the question of fuzzy sampling).
