Abstract

A flexure hinged micro-positioning platform driven by piezoelectric actuator is a under damped system, without compensation, the open loop transient response exhibits high degree of overshoot and residual vibration. In order to reduce residual vibration, the basic conception of input shaping technique (IST) was introduced; the inherent essence of IST suppressing residual vibration was studied, and a four impulse input shaping controller was designed to reduce residual vibration. The experiment results revealed the proposed input shaping controller to be effective in reducing residual vibration.
