Abstract

This paper presents modeling and analysis of DC-DC Quadratic Buck converter based on Sliding Mode Controller (SMC) and Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC). FLC and SMC are preferred over PID controller for better performance. Similar to buck converter, quadratic buck converter also steps down the input voltage but the later has nonlinear transfer function. As conventional Buck Converter provides less resolution of output to input voltage gain, quadratic buck converter is used for its better performance. MOSFET switch is used considering high switching frequency and low switching losses. To get the desired response, FLC and SMC are designed and modeled in MATLAB/Simulink and outcomes are analyzed and compared on various performance indices. Both transient and steady state performance is evaluated.
