Abstract
The addition of seed grains to a ceramic powder is an effective means to control the final grain size by supporting discontinuous grain growth. Seed grains are widely single crystalline particles having the same composition as the sintered powder, but showing larger grain size. The effect of seed grains can be very useful in the production of ZnO and BaTiO 3 based on nonlinear resistors (PTC, VDR).
