Abstract
A 58-year-old patient with hypertension was referred for EMR of a large flat polyp in the ascending colon. Colonoscopy revealed a Paris IIa lesion measuring roughly 3 cm in diameter. The polyp was removed by first injecting diluted indigo carmine to achieve an adequate submucosal lift. A 25-mm snare (Snaremaster Spiral; Olympus America Inc, Center Valley, Pa) was used to capture the lifted polyp. Using a blended cut current (Endocut; ERBE USA, Inc, Marietta, Ga), we removed the polyp en bloc. Immediately an arterial bleed was identified with brisk spurting of blood from the submucosa.
