Abstract

Abstract The efficacy of copper sulfate, Diuron, and potassium permanganate in controlling external bacterial infections of bluegills (Lepomis macrochirus) was determined. Potassium permanganate at 3 mg/1 significantly reduced mortality (P ≤ 0.05), whereas other concentrations and the other chemicals did not. Dissolved oxygen was reduced significantly in the pools treated with Diuron.
