Abstract

The effects of technological conditions on the electric arc furnace for the reduction smelting of SiO2 to produce Si-metal are analysed by considering the relationship between temperature and PSiO/PCO for the relevant reactions in the equilibrium gas phase during which SiO2 is reduced to Si. To achieve a high Si output, low energy consumption and for improving the overall process, several technical measures are proposed using the equilibrium state diagram model.
