Abstract

Modes and dispersion properties of nonlinear plasmonic waveguide made of a Kerr-type dielectric slab bounded by a graphene parallel plate have been studied. The influence of nonlinear coefficient on the dispersion relation was investigated. In the case of a wide nonlinear waveguide, three branches are always present in the dispersion relation, thus three modes exist in the waveguide. However, for a narrow nonlinear waveguide, only one branch exists in the dispersion relation for high values of the nonlinear coefficient. Moreover, the control of dispersion properties of nonlinear dielectric-graphene waveguide is achieved by adjusting the width of waveguide and nonlinear coefficient.
