Abstract

AbstractA rapid method for determining the amber color of glasses has been developed by measuring light transmission at 5250 a.u. with a revised Fisher electrophotometer. The results are in fair agreement with data obtained by slower, more elaborate equipment. Control charts show that amber color becomes darker with increased tank pull. Major causes of color fluctuation are discussed.
