Abstract

The aim of this paper is to describe the growth conditions and magneto-optical properties of iron garnet films with a high bismuth content having a high Faraday rotation (θF > 15000°/cm at the 6328 A wavelength), low absorption coefficients (α < 1000 cm-1 at 6328 A) and controlled anisotropy field (200 < Hk < 3000 oe).
