Abstract

Torque of AC motors fed by current source inverter is suitably controlled by regulation of the torque angle of the motor which provides very good stability and performances without the need of a speed or position feed-back. A very simple circuit is presented to perform this control strategy with good efficiency. We show applications to the control of induction motors fed by DC chopper, for traction applications, and to the control of synchronous machines for industrial applications.
