Abstract
Angiography equipment is one of the most used in interventionist medical techniques. However, in the image formation process, this uses X-rays, which are dangerous since these cause harmful effects to the individuals involved. For this reason, and according to one of the pillars of radiation protection, “as low as reasonably possible”, known as optimisation that quality control of this equipment is essential to reduce the radiation dose, at the same time as obtaining a good quality image. A description is presented in this article of the most relevant quality control tests for fluoroscope equipment, as well as demonstrating the role of each test and the type of equipment used to perform it. This will include the limits adopted by the international regulatory authorities, as well as recording the information necessary to determine whether or not the angiography equipment meets the minimum quality standard in order to operate.
