Abstract
ABSTRACT Characteristics of the channel relationship itself, such as control by a dominant supplier in an asymmetric channel relationship, contribute to channel partner decision making uncertainty. The authors offer several hypotheses positing that frequent and balanced communication between suppliers and distributors mitigate this effect. The hypotheses are tested by estimating a latent variable interaction model. Results demonstrate that the impact of internal channel factors on uncertainty are contingent on communication patterns in the relationship.
