Abstract

This work presents a wind energy conversion system with an open-end winding permanent magnet synchronous generator. Two 2-level back-to-back converters with independent DC-links are used to connect the system to the grid. The grid and the inverter are connected via a three windings transformer and an inductive filter. The modulation used on the machine side of the converter is the LSPWM and on the grid side uses the SVPWM. The system is simulated using MATLAB/Simulink software and the behavior of the mains variables are presented to show the control and operation.
