She wrote “The Fight for Women's Suffrage at Utah's Constitutional Convention” as a junior at Jordan High School as part of Utah's National History Day® competition.DEIDRE M. HENDERSON became Utah's ninth lieutenant governor in January 2021. Eleven months later, she completed her bachelor's degree in History at Brigham Young University, an accomplishment twenty-eight years in the making. Henderson has dedicated her time in office to removing barriers to success for all Utahns, ensuring that elections are well run, and bolstering the state's relationship with Native American tribes. Prior to her election as lieutenant governor, she served for eight years in the Utah State Senate, representing the people of south Utah County. Henderson and her husband, Gabe, live in Spanish Fork.
