Abstract

By means of a torque magnetometer, measurements of the saturation magnetization as a function of the annealing time as well as of the rotational hysteresis losses as a function of the magnetic field intensity have been made, for both Ni and Ni 3Mn films. Ni films behave during the transition as being made up of two components, a ferromagnetic and a nonferromagnetic one. Ni 3Mn films behave during the order-disorder transition time as being made up of several components, among which only one has typical ferromagnetic features consisting of completely ordered regions.
