The Olland system of telemetering was used in this instrument and the models were constructed by the Feiber Instrument Company. Other models of the Olland type were: One developed by Dr. L. F. Maier of the Army, and L. E. Wood of the Guggenheim Aeronautical Laboratory of the California Institute of Technology; one developed by Dr. J. Piccard and others of the University of Minnesota; one developed by Messrs. Mears, Little, and Moon of the United States Weather Bureau; and one now under development by the Julien P.
