Abstract
The theory of Doniach and Wohlfarth for the spin dynamics of dilute ferromagnetic transition metal alloys is extended to include local exchange enhancement effects. Expressions are derived for the ‘giant’ moment and dynamic susceptibility of such alloys and the characteristics of the spin wave spectrum are predicted for several Pt- and Pd- based alloys.
