Abstract

In this paper, a novel single phase inverter structure for pre-calculated switching using polarised capacitors as harmonics filter is proposed. This structure is developed to obtain infinite value for the input impedance to eliminate the current flow in the capacitor, and zero value for the output impedance to minimise the voltage drop. The single-phase inverter is associated with a modified passive LC 1 C 2 filter to improve the voltage quality delivered by the inverter and to minimise the losses caused by the filter. The switching angles are drawn by solving a non-linear equations system using genetic algorithms. Simulation results are given to illustrate the inverter performance, and experimental results based on digital signal processor (DSP) are presented to demonstrate the validity of our approach.
