Abstract

ABSTRACT Three new species of the genus Minona Marcus, 1946 from Elat (Red Sea) are described: M. ileanae n. sp., M. pseudoileanae n. sp., and M. albicincta n. sp. They differ in details of the copulatory organ, size and shape of the accessory organ, pigmentation, and karyotype. The three species present a rare morphological feature for the genus Minona (i.e., fusion of male and accessory organ pores). Due to the presence of this synapomorphy, a sister-species relationship is proposed for them.
