Abstract

The thermopower of a degenerate ferromagnetic semiconductor for T T c is estimated with due regard to the heat transport arising from nonequilibrium spin fluctuations in the localized f-spin subsystem. Strong s-f interaction manifests itself in mutual drag of conduction electrons (or holes) and spin fluctuations. This leads to a correction term to the usual Mott-Jones thermopower, which is shown to be negative and essential only in the vicinity of the magnetic phase transition temperature (the Curie point) T c.
