Abstract

In the last decade, endovascular surgery became the first-line treatment of aneurysms and occlusive lesions. The complexity of certain procedures exposes the patient and the operators to a high burn-up rate. Preoperative digital simulation can help to decrease this exposure by planning the procedure and simulating the ionizing radiations. The Monte Carlo simulation techniques (MC), i.e. the simulation of particles in matter, allow a precise and personalized calculation of the radiation dose received by the patient.
