Abstract
We analysed the prevalence of Angle Class II/1 and Angle Class II/2 subdivisions both to boys and girls. In the researched group, the prevalence of Angle Class II malocclusion was of 17.65%, the first subdivision having values of 13.59% and the second one II/2 of 4.06%. In the case of the schoolchildren’s place of origin (urban/rural) we noticed that the number of Angle malocclusions subdivision II/1 was three times bigger than the subdivision II/2. For both subdivisions, the values of the prevalence were almost equal to boys and girls registering a slight variation to schoolchildren aged (6 to 10) and (11 to 14), both in the rural and the urban area.

Ţinând cont de impactul pe care îl au modificările morfo-funcţionale ale aparatului dento-maxilar în cadrul malocluziei clasa a II-a Angle, ne-am propus să studiem prevalenţa acesteia în arealul Craiovei. Cât şi la băieţi a fost urmărită prevalenţa subdiviziunilor II/1 şi II/2 Angle. În lotul studiat prevalenţa malocluziei clasa a II-a Angle a fost de 17,65%, în cadrul căreia subdiviziunea II/1 a avut valori de 13,59% şi subdiviziunea II/2 de 4,06%. În cazul mediului de provenienţă al şcolarilor (urban/rural), a fost observată o prevalenţă de 3 ori mai mare pentru subdiviziunea II/1 faţă de II/2 Angle. Valorile prevalenţei au fost aproape egale la fete şi la băieţi, cu variaţii mici între 6-10 ani şi 10-14 ani atât în mediul rural, cât şi urban.
