Abstract

Brazil, during the 90's, underwent important changes in the Brazilian Electric Sector (SEB). During the administration of President Fernando Henrique Cardoso was created the Project of Restructuring of the SEB (RE-SEB), what introduced the concept of competition and free market of electric power. This concept moved the energy market of Brazil and companies had to reinvent themselves to conform to this type of contracting in order to reduce their costs. Thus, this work has a purpose to support the decision to purchase energy for Free Consumer, which aims to invest in energy contracts to minimize costs.
