Abstract

We report on a complete contrast reversal and contrast enhancement of a holographically recorded phase spot array/grid achieved by phase filtering, using an intensity-dependent refractive index medium, zinc tetraphenyl porphyrin as phase filter placed in the Fourier plane of the 4-f imaging system. We show that the contrast enhancement is robust and insensitive to local errors in the phase array and can be used to repair a damaged portion of the input phase array.
