Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical effect of foam sclerotherapy of polidocanol and high ligation of great saphenous vein combie with cavity laser surgery for varicose vein of lower extremity. Methods A total of 60 cases (66 diseased limbs) of varicose vein of lower extremity patients were randomly divided into two groups, A group treated with foam sclerotherapy of polidocanol (n=30, 33 diseased limbs) , B group treated with high ligation of great saphenous vein combie with cavity laser surgery (n=30, 33 diseased limbs). The operation time, hospitalization expenses, the incidence of complications and the treatment effect were compared. Results The operation time and hospitalization expenses of A group significantly lower than B group, there was significant difference (P 0.05). There was no significantly statistical difference in treatment effect of two groups (leaving hospital, after 3 months, after 6 months, after 1 year) (P>0.05). Conclusions Foam sclerotherapy of polidocanol is a microinvasive, fewer complications, safe, effective treatment for varicose vein of lower extremity. Key words: Foam sclerotherapy; Polidocanol; Varicose vein of lower extremity; High ligation of the great saphenous vein; Cavity laser surgery
