Abstract
The contract for construction of the 100‐inch Irénée du Pont Telescope mounting, including the mirror support system and the precise driving mechanism, has been awarded to the Boiler & Chivens Division of Perkin‐Elmer Corporation, South Pasadena, California, in joint venture with the L and F Industries of Los Angeles. The 67‐ton telescope is to be installed at the Carnegie Institution of Washington's Las Campanas Observatory in Chile.
