Abstract

A federal district court, on August 31, held that the contraceptive mandate, as applied to a nonreligious nonprofit organization and its employees with contrary religious views, is unconstitutional as a violation of the equal protection clause and is a violation of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, but it is not contrary to free exercise principles (March for Life v. Burwell (D.D.C.)).
