Abstract
ABSTRACT - Lorenzo García Vega, member of Orígenes and in exile since 1967, reflects in his memories on the foundations of his own poetics as well as on Cuban culture in 20th Century. Putting in perspective the sources of Garcia Vega's images (cubism, photography, Joseph Cornell and pop art), the article studies the characteristics, functions and motivations of their use in this text in order to locate it in Cuban context. The basic claim is that the author is intent to «deconstruct» collective imaginary and the Utopian simulacra produced by national literature since independence.
