Abstract

Although cast gold crown restorations are most often indicated for abutments in removable partial denture construction, certain conditions are more practically approached with cast gold inlays. The preparation must be designed to provide maximum retention for the inlay, while adequate protection of the abutment tooth and of the supporting structures is maintained.
