Abstract
The recoil corrected continuum shell model is employed to calculate the $148\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{},\phantom{\rule{0.2em}{0ex}}p+^{7}\mathrm{Be}$ excitation function and identify the nature of the structures in those cross sections. Asymptotic normalization constants for the $^{8}\mathrm{B}$ ground state are also provided. The ground state is nearly an even mix of channel spins one and two. The $R$-matrix formalism is then used to clarify the use of asymptotic normalization constants.
