Abstract
By collective Monte Carlo techniques we simulate the two-dimensional O(3) σ-model at large correlation lengths up to 121. We determine both the nonperturbative mass and the asymptotic freedom scale Λ MS in lattice units by fits of the two-point function at separations large compared to the lattice spacing. For their dimensionless ratio we find the value m Λ MS =2.5(1) . Asymptotic scaling with the bare lattice coupling is still absent.
