Continuum absorption by water vapor in the 8–12 and 3–5 μm atmospheric transparency windows

Abstract

Water vapor absorption coefficients, obtained earlier within the framework of the asymptotic theory of line wings, are used for calculation of the continuum absorption in the frequency region between 0 and 3500 cm−1. The CKD continuum is compared with the continuum, found with the use of the asymptotic line wing theory.
