Abstract

SummaryA 12‐month infant with severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia and gastro‐oesophageal reflux presented for a Nissen fundoplication under general anaesthesia. Post‐operative pain was successfully managed with a continuous rectus sheath infusion of bupivacaine 0.25% 0.1 ml·kg−1·h−1 through an indwelling catheter which facilitated a rapid return to pre‐operative respiratory function.
