Abstract

Measurement of liquid concentration is important application using a shear horizontal surface acoustic wave (SH-SAW) sensor. In this paper, methanol concentration of a direct methanol fuel cell is monitored using the SH-SAW sensor. To determine the liquid concentration, the perturbation theory for an electrical perturbation is used. Estimated results indicate that the SH-SAW sensor can apply to the continuous estimation of liquid concentration without a reference liquid.
