Abstract

The compounds emerging from the gas-chromatographic column are quantitatively converted to a mixture of CO(2) and H(2). These gases are separated by means of an auxiliary column. The ratio of C and H atoms of each substance is deduced from the areas of carbon dioxide and hydrogen peaks.
